Samsung’s latest mid-range phones, the Galaxy A53 5G and A33 5G, were given a quick hands-on test. Both are reasonably priced and have great feature sets and specs.
Samsung’s A53 5G was presented at the company’s ‘An Event’ on March 16th, fresh off the press. It has some excellent features at a fair price. This new smartphone isn’t the Samsung Galaxy S22, but it seems quite promising if you’re searching for a more affordable option. We got a quick peek at the new handset, took it a quick test, and went over all the crucial specifications.
The Samsung A53 5G is the company’s newest mid-range smartphone, priced at just under £400. This puts it in direct competition with Apple’s recently announced iPhone SE (3rd gen), and it’ll be interesting to see how the two stack up once we get comprehensive reviews of both handsets.

What Does The Samsung A53 5g Stand For?
Samsung’s A53 5G and A33 5G smartphones have been announced as an intriguing new mid-range pair. They’re both in the lower mid-range phone market, for £399 and £329, respectively.
In essence, these two phones use slightly older, last-generation technology in a new phone with Samsung’s software updates and support. Even though they don’t have the most cutting-edge technology, both handsets appeared to be promising in our initial tests.
What Is The Price Of The Samsung A53 5G?
The Samsung A53 5G costs £399, while the A33 is available for £329. The A53 is currently available for pre-order and will be available in the UK on April 1st. From April 22nd, the A33 will be available.
In comparison, Apple’s entry-level iPhone SE (3rd gen) starts at £419 and comes with only 64GB of storage. That comparison paints a nice picture of Samsung’s product, but we won’t be able to evaluate the two in-depth until we’ve tested both handsets thoroughly.
Camera And Characteristics Of The Samsung A53
The 64MP camera of the A53 5G is quite remarkable. It uses Samsung’s standard AI photograph processing, which results in bright and high-contrast photographs. ‘Night mode’ photography is available on both the A53 and the A33.
Again, it doesn’t give the same degree of photography as Samsung’s costlier phones, but it wowed us during our little hands-on time with it. We can’t wait to get our hands on the phone so we can put it through its paces and compare it to Apple’s impending iPhone SE (3rd gen).
Aside from the camera, the phone has a solid collection of features and specifications. The Exynos 1280 CPU is at the heart of everything, and it’s the first 5nm chip to make its way into a Samsung A-Series phone. According to Samsung, it has 6GB of RAM and the option to utilize some ROM storage gigabytes as RAM. This is a feature that we’d want to investigate more.
For added peace of mind, it has an IP67 water resistance rating and a fingerprint scanner.
Aside from that, the phone’s display is its most notable feature. The Super AMOLED panel is a joy to use, with an adaptable 120Hz refresh rate (the A33 has an adaptive 90Hz refresh rate). The panel is clear and bright, with a brightness of 800 nits. Scrolling is smooth, and the panel is clear and bright.
Battery For Samsung A53
The A53 and A33 may be exactly up your alley if you value battery life above all else. Both phones have a 5000mAh battery and support 25W fast charging, and Samsung claims that they can last two days on a single charge. When we conduct our entire test, we’ll go over this in further depth.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series has a significantly smaller battery size. The normal S22 comes with a 3700mAh battery, while the S22+ comes with a 4500mAh cell. In light of these stats, the 5000mAh battery is a welcome addition. However, Samsung claims that the S22 series’ more powerful processor – and the AI it powers – allows the phone to make better use of its battery capacity.
The phone’s adaptive battery life settings, according to Samsung, will learn about your usage as you use it more, allowing it to become more power-efficient.
A53 Is A Samsung Design
The A53 and A33 are significantly less expensive than the S22 and even the S21 FE. They are, nevertheless, good haptic handsets with a small, elegant Samsung design. When comparing the handsets directly to Samsung’s more expensive products, the materials just feel a little cheap. That is, after all, to be expected.
On the other hand, the camera bump is not in the same style as Samsung’s other camera bumps. Rather than dwelling in a distinct cut-out space, as they do on the metallic bumps of the S22 and S22+, the main colour of the handset continues and wraps around the lenses. This new design is similar to that of the Oppo Find X5.

Should You Get The Samsung Galaxy A53 Smartphone?
Although we’ve only had a short amount of time with the Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 smartphones, our initial thoughts are positive. We like what we’ve seen thus far, and the specifications sheet appears to be more than promising.
The enormous 5000mAh battery and the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate display are two of the device’s most notable characteristics. We’re also looking forward to spending more time with the ‘RAM Plus’ function, which allows users to use some of their gigabytes of storage as RAM, so giving the handset a bit more ‘oomph’.
