The internet’s largest store has a website that isn’t working properly for some users for various reasons. Many Amazon.com pages aren’t loading at all, are displaying error messages, or are loading slowly with missing data.
According to other Verge employees, some users are receiving error messages or pages that are half loading, while others are not, and different pages’ produce varying outcomes. The problem was first reported around 1:40 p.m. ET, and some individuals have been experiencing it ever since.
While receiving a notice that says “We’re sorry, an error has happened” isn’t ideal, it’s better than nothing. Please try again after reloading this page.”
The good news is that whatever’s wrong doesn’t appear to be an Amazon Web Service outage affecting other services across the internet while you’re trying to get cat food or a Fire HD tablet.
Amazon.com outages are uncommon, but not unheard of. Even a brief period of downtime can cost the business a significant amount of money.
