The Swift 5 From Acer Now Has A 16:10 Screen

The Swift consumer range from Acer has been updated. The big news is that the Swift 5, the company’s flagship consumer phone, has finally switched from a 16:9 to a 16:10 aspect ratio screen. It’s the latest in a long line of high-end flagship items to make the switch.

Aside from the aspect ratio, the new 14-inch Swift 5 appears remarkably identical to the previous Swift 5 models. It’s becoming a little heavier (2.65 pounds, up from the previous 2.31). It now has a 2560 x 1600 display, whereas previous year’s model only had a 1920 x 1080 display.

The Swift Has Been Upgraded To Intel On The Inside

Core CPUs from Intel’s 12th generation. It has a memory capacity of up to 16GB and a storage capacity of up to 2TB. That’s a lot of storage for such a small device; last year’s model had a maximum capacity of 1 TB.

This Swift also contains a fingerprint sensor (as did last year’s edition) and an FHD webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction technology, according to Acer. This type of processing can improve image quality, but it doesn’t always do so, which is why we’re including a thorough review of the gadget with this review.

Digging In More Details

The new Swift 5 will be available in North America in June, with a starting price of $1,499, which is slightly higher than the base configuration from last year. In March, devices will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (beginning at €1,799), and in April, in China (starting at RMB 9,999).

A new Swift 3 is also on the way. Although it still retains the 16:9 aspect ratio, this device, which is more budget-friendly, has transitioned to 12th-gen processors. In North America, it costs $849.99; in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, it costs €1,199; and in China, it costs RMB 5,499
