Love, Death + Robots Vol. 3 Trailer Reveals Release Date

The first trailer for Love, Death, and Robots: Volume 3 was released on Netflix.

The streaming service also announced that the third edition of the animated anthology series will premiere on May 20, displaying the variety of animation techniques and tales that will be told in the following season.

Love, Death + Robots: Volume 3 will include a sequel to “Three Robots,” the popular segment from the previous instalment, as shown in the video. In May 2021, series creator and Deadpool director Tim Miller and supervising director Jennifer Yuh Nelson teased the reappearance of these three robots. “Some of the characters are returning. The story was adapted for Volume 1 from a short story by John Scalzi, and Scalzi will write the sequel for Volume 3.

“We had a great time working with [Scalzi], and those stories were really popular,” Miller added. “I’m not sure if there’s an exact measure of popularity, but ‘Zima Blue,’ ‘Three Robots,’ and ‘The Witness’ were frequently mentioned as favorites, especially ‘Three Robots,’ which is fucking hilarious.”

Volume 3 and the publication date for Volume 2 were both revealed in April 2021. Volume 3 will, like previous seasons, feature a diversity of animation styles and will be comprised of eight episodes, each with a separate cast and crew. Miller wrote and executive produced Love, Death, and Robots, which will premiere on Netflix in 2019.

Volume 1 had 18 short films, 16 of which were adapted from science fiction short tales, such as John Scalzi’s “Three Robots Experience Objects Left Behind from the Human Era for the First Time.”

Love, Death + Robots has received two Emmy Awards since its premiere, including the prize for Outstanding Short-Form Animated Program for the episode “The Witness,” as mentioned in the trailer.

Love, Death, and Robots Vol. 2 is now available to watch on Netflix. The third volume will be issued in 2022.
