Google has allowed Parler to back to the Google Play Store after removing it in January 2021 for failing to moderate violent online content.
Apple reinstalled Parler in May 2021 after removing it around the same time as Google.
Bloomberg reports that Parler, a free speech platform, will oversee Play Store app posts.
“Anything authorized on the Parler network but not in the iOS app will remain accessible through our web-based and Android versions,” the business told The Verge.
The Android version was available via sideloading and didn’t have to follow Google Play policies. The company claims its technology might detect violent content violations.
Parler isn’t the only social network in talks to join the Play Store. Trump’s social network, Truth Social, had similar issues.
Digital World Acquisition Corp., the app’s developer, says it’s worked “in good faith with Google” to access its app distribution infrastructure.
